SaveOnGroceries ("we", "us", "the app") is owned and operated by Nio Innovations LLC, a South Carolina limited liability company. It is a grocery price-comparison tool for the Fort Mill & Tega Cay, SC area, available as a website and as an Android app. This policy explains what information we do and do not collect, and how it is used. We have designed the app to collect as little personal data as possible.
When you use the grocery-list feature, the items you type are stored locally on your own device (in your browser/app storage) so the app can calculate which store is cheapest for your list. This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us. You can clear it at any time by clearing the app's storage.
If and when you use an optional receipt-scanning feature, the app will request permission to use your camera or photo library only at the moment you choose to scan a receipt. A photo you choose to scan may be sent securely to a processing service solely to read the items and prices on the receipt and calculate potential savings. Receipt images are used only for that purpose and are not used to identify you or sold to anyone. If this feature is not present in your version of the app, no camera or photo access occurs.
Like most websites and apps, our hosting and content-delivery providers may automatically log standard technical information (such as IP address, device/browser type, and pages viewed) for security, reliability, and aggregate usage statistics. This information is not used to personally identify you.
Grocery prices shown in the app are gathered and verified for informational purposes and may not always reflect the exact in-store price. Prices are not personalized to you and do not involve collecting personal data from you.
The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We do not sell your personal data. Limited technical data may be processed by our infrastructure providers (e.g., website hosting and, for optional receipt scanning, an image-processing service) solely to operate the app. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
